Using a domain you already own

You can keep your domain where it is now. We only ask you to change its nameservers, which tells the internet to look for your website and email at Good N Service.

Do you use your domain for email somewhere else, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365? Tell us before you change anything. We copy your email settings first so your email keeps working.

Steps

  1. We email you two nameservers. They look like name.ns.cloudflare.com.
  2. Log in where you bought your domain (for example GoDaddy, Namecheap, 123 Reg or IONOS).
  3. Open your domain and find Nameservers (sometimes under DNS or Manage domain).
  4. Choose Custom nameservers, delete the ones there, and enter the two we sent you.
  5. Save, and tell us when it is done.

The change usually takes from a few minutes to a few hours, and occasionally up to 48 hours. Your old website keeps working until the switch, so it should not go offline.
